"I'm sorry but our ice cream machine is down today"
Well I will admit while listening to the article last night I was extremely tired and it was only 8:00 which sounds crazy but it was my only night off work this week. As sleepy as I was I still get a few things out of it. Mostly what I got we're some really irritating, squeaky voices from them which made it harder to listen to and then the word contingent which kept being repeated over and over during the first half. So I decided to use handy dandy google and search up "contingent being vs. necessary being". Doing so it made me understand it all a little better with the whole cosmological argument thing when I went back and listened to it for the second time tonight after I got off of work.
Now after somehow grasping my mind partially around this argument and believing I would understand or enjoy this better the second time around, I really did not. I feel like I expected way more about this debate than what actually happened. The word "contingent" just kept coming up over and again and this time I thought to myself, "Is this thing going anywhere or is this whole contingent, necessary thing or is this just going to be the whole topic?" I feel like Russell just kept bringing up the same thing over and over where Copleston did bring up several different topics. I feel like I went to McDonald's to only find out the ice cream machine is broken because I expected this great debate but then I just did not get that.
