Material vs Spiritual
This is just a thought I had that was growing on me as Milton described earth, Heaven, God, and Adam and Eve in so much vivid detail. We know that this world is all material. It is made up of matter. We also know that Heaven is not a physical material place. So, obviously our minds can't really fathom and wrap around the understanding of God's works, but there is some food for thought here. As Milton describes Heaven and Earth as well as God, angels, demons, etc., he does so almost in the same type of wording in a way for all. We know that the Bible says the earth was formed from dust/nothingness which shows God's awesome power. He took nothing and created something wonderful. In contrast, Milton eludes that God created the earth and such out of himself hinting that God is a sort of matter. I'm not the best at wording my ideas, so I hope this made sense. We know that God is a spiritual being and that Heaven is a spiritual place, but I do like how Milton attempts to describe the appearance and vibe so-to-speak of what we know is spiritual.
