'Cause I gotta have faith
I absolutely loved this parable especially the bottom part. I did enjoy how it was referenced that God's love is, "not merely human love" which would be true because he is God and we are not.
The last sentence is what really got to me. It reminded me of a friend of mine who I graduated with last year and played volleyball with for 5 years. She lost her mom due to a kidney disease just a few days ago and I cannot imagine the devastation and heartache her family is going through. Even the shooting in Florida at a high school is completely unimaginable. What is being said people struggle with how God doesn't seem to be there when we need help and when situations like these two arise. Truly it is a reality for most people because we doubt things or even God himself.
It was asked what has to happen for us to doubt God and know if he does exist if we can't physically see what's going on. I feel that's why the skeptic and believer cannot agree on the Gardner because maybe the skeptic went through something hard enough to doubt God and only would believe what he could see unlike the believer. I think the whole idea of that concept is quite amazing. I absolutely loved how the gardener was used in the parable to represent a battle of faith and what cannot be seen especially since it is so relative to today's society.
