All Night Long
This is my third time reading this and none of the effects of the first reading has worn off. Night renders it's readers helpless and forces them into experiencing these events first hand. There was a psychological and physical breaking of those people and as a reader you want to put the book down, but something won't let you. One thing that amazes me is the fact that throughout the work Elie repeats times where things were "easy" on him and his father and I think of those who had a worse experience than them. (If that's possible) Elie's faith is shaken because of the things that he sees and that becomes a major theme is the work. The fact that not only were people able to do this to others, but the fact that they could sleep afterwards would make anyone wonder what kind of God created this.
